Is there something that excites you about the upcoming academic year? What are you hopeful for?
I look forward to meeting, working with, learning from, and making new connections with a variety of faculty from other disciplines and colleges.
Is there something in particular that you would like Co-Directors and/or Professional Learning Leaders (PLLs) to experience as faculty leaders?
As a chemistry teacher, I love the “ah ha!” moments of a student discovering that they have mastered a complex calculation or lab technique. As a Hub leader, I want faculty to experience those “ah ha!” moments of discovering ways to address complex challenges in their classrooms, offices, and colleges.
The Teaching & Learning Hubs may be a new concept for some faculty. What would you say to faculty who are hesitant about engaging with the Hubs?
As part of the Hubs, you get to learn and grow with faculty facing similar challenges. You get the change to learn and grow with faculty from different subject areas, different years of experience, and different colleges. You don’t need to be “siloed” and face challenges alone!
