Paul-Arthur Pierre-Louis, Ph.D.

Bio

Dr. Paul-Arthur Pierre-Louis currently works for the Community College Policy and Administration Doctoral Program at the University of Maryland Global Campus. His PhD is from the College of Education Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University. In the past, Dr. Pierre-Louis has served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the NC State Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, Program Coordinator of the Bachelor of Applied Science Degrees at Broward College, Assistant Director of the Transfer Advocate Gateway Program at Kennesaw State University (KSU), and Director of the College Reach Out Program at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He has also served as an instructor for the Leadership Minor degree program at UCF and Department of First-Year and Transition Studies at KSU. Dr. Pierre-Louis’ research consists of exploring the college choice and sense of belonging of Black immigrant students in community colleges and 4-year institutions. Dr. Pierre-Louis has presented at numerous conferences on issues affecting career pathways of marginalized ethnic populations in higher education. Dr. Pierre-Louis has participated as co-PI on numerous grants sponsored by the State of Florida Department of Education and U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Pierre-Louis has served as the co-Chair of the Multicultural Concerns Commission of the National Academic Advising Association.
