Bio

Kayla R. Patterson, M.Ed., is a Research Associate at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Development. She has teaching experience spanning from early childhood education to college. Kayla has a background in higher education student affairs and is interested in research that elevates multicultural understandings of rural heritage through community driven initiatives. She comes from a lineage of educators and has attended New York University, Western Carolina University and North Carolina State University.
