Jess Edwards, Ed.D., is a senior research associate focused on rural community colleges at the Belk Center. Their research focuses on rural community engagement and strategic planning, primarily with external partner institutions and organizations. They earned their Ed.D. in Education Policy and Leadership from American University. Their master’s degree is Modern American History with a research focus in the History of Education, which they received from Rutgers University, and their bachelor’s degree is in International Relations with a minor in History from Texas State University. Jess’s previous experience includes working in academic support, student support and teaching at the higher education and K-12 levels.
