Bio
Emily VanZoest, Ph.D. is a senior research associate at the Belk Center. At the Belk Center, Emily leads the NC Reconnect adult learner research team through qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Emily also supports the PACE Climate Survey research team.
Her research centers on adult learners and NC Reconnect efforts in North Carolina, campus climate from the employee perspective, women and gender issues in higher education, and higher education governance. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development specializing in Higher Education at NC State University. Her Master’s degree is in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University, and her Bachelor’s degree is in Social Relations and Policy from Michigan State University. Previously, she has worked in career advising, enrollment management, and higher education and leadership consulting.
