NC State College of Education & Belk Center Announce New Faculty and Staff Positions

Applications are currently being accepted for new faculty and staff positions in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy & Human Development and the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. 

Department of Educational Leadership, Policy & Human Development

The Department of Educational Leadership, Policy & Human Development within NC State’s College of Education is seeking two exceptional candidates as part of an external search for an Assistant Professor of Practice and Associate Professor to work in the area of Community College Leadership.

Each of the positions will work with the doctoral program in Community College Leadership – an executive format cohort program that equips graduates to lead transformational change in community colleges focused on improved student outcomes. Structured to support professionals balancing work responsibilities with academic commitments, the program allows students to complete coursework in three years.

Applications are currently being accepted for the positions – with highest priority given to candidates with expertise in the field of community college leadership. However, candidates working in other areas of higher education are also encouraged to apply.

Assistant Professor of Practice in Community College Leadership

This professional-track appointment will provide focused leadership and support for a practitioner-focused, cohort-designed Ed.D. program in Community College Leadership. The assistant professor of practice will collaborate with the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research to enhance the student experience and contribute to the College of Education’s goal of increasing postsecondary completion and success – in North Carolina and beyond. Associate Professor in Community College Leadership

This tenure-track appointment will provide focused leadership and support as program director for the Ed.D. program in Community College Leadership. As director of the program, this professor will work closely with the program faculty on advising students, supporting dissertation committee assignments, and reviewing and updating the program curriculum. The leadership, scholarship and teaching of this new colleague are expected to enhance the excellence of the academic community and contribute to the College of Education’s goal of increasing postsecondary completion and success to assure improved social and economic mobility for all. The Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research

The Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research serves North Carolina’s community colleges by convening leaders, creating tools, and catalyzing social and economic mobility for learners – building stronger, more resilient communities. To advance their mission and further more equitable community college outcomes in North Carolina and beyond, the Belk Center is seeking a highly qualified candidate as part of an external search for a Director of Research. 

Director of Research

The Director of Research will provide vision and leadership for the research, evaluation and survey functions in the Belk Center. The Director serves as the research liaison to partner organizations, including the North Carolina Community College System, MyFutureNC, EducationNC, the UNC System Office, Hunt Institute, Achieving the Dream, Aspen Institute’s College Excellence Program and other statewide and national collaborative partners. This role reports directly to the Executive Director and works in collaboration with the Deputy Director and senior leadership within the center – including the advisory board, professors of practice and affiliate faculty.
