Dr. Monique N. Colclough, Senior Research Associate with the Belk Center, created a research brief about the teaching and learning case studies for faculty professional development in North Carolina’s community colleges. After the 2018 Dallas Herring Lecture, the case studies were identified as one method to capture how faculty professional development is positioned and delivered across several community colleges. During the 2019-2020 academic year, 130 full-time and adjunct faculty were interviewed at six community colleges, resulting in recommendations for disciplines, institutions, and the community college system. This research is also timely as recent attention on faculty professional development has become prominent during COVID-19.
