Melissa Whatley, Ph.D.

Melissa WhatleyMelissa Whatley, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral research scholar at the Belk Center. In this role, she conducts quantitative research on issues related to community college student outcomes and community college campus culture with a view to informing policies and practices that contribute to student success. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education. In addition to her research with the Belk Center, she examines issues surrounding social stratification in international education, especially study abroad, institutional policies and practices, and the two-year sector.
