Chad Hoggan, Ed.D. is a faculty scholar with the Belk Center and an Associate Professor in the Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development Department at NC State. His research involves transformative learning, or those experiences that dramatically affect how people see themselves and the world around them. He has studied transformative learning with a wide range of research participants, ranging from postsecondary and graduate students to breast cancer survivors to military veterans. Hoggan’s work with the Belk Center revolves around ways to support historically underserved students. His current project is an assessment of new and innovative approaches that community colleges across North Carolina have experimented with to increase completion rates of historically underserved students.
