Sooji Kim, Ph.D. is a senior research associate at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. In this role, she is engaged with research examining enrollment/transfer issues and related policies, using a statewide administrative dataset from the University of North Carolina System. Sooji holds a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Michigan. She has more than 10 years of experience in higher education research and also extensive experience in institutional research/assessment and evaluation. Sooji’s research examines the ways that public policies and institutional practices promote and limit college affordability and access (particularly for lower- and limited-income students) as well as organizational sustainability of higher education institutions. Her current work focuses on college financial aid, admissions, and transfers.
