Belk Center Releases Adult Learner Guidebook to Aid in the Recruitment and Retainment of Adult Learners at North Carolina Community Colleges
The Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, in partnership with the John M. Belk Endowment (JMBE), myFutureNC and the North Carolina Community College System, is pleased to announce the release of the Adult Learner Guidebook. A new resource for community colleges across the state, the guidebook synthesizes lessons learned from the NC Reconnect “Better Skills, Better Jobs” campaign.

W. Dallas Herring Professor and Belk Center Executive Director Audrey Jaeger Receives Holladay Medal from NC State
Five faculty members, including Belk Center Executive Director and W. Dallas Herring Distinguished Professor, Dr. Audrey J. Jaeger, received the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for Excellence, the highest honor bestowed by NC State and the university’s Board of Trustees. Chancellor Randy Woodson will recognize the awardees during an in-person Celebration of Faculty Excellence on May 4.

"The Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, in partnership with Achieving the Dream, recently launched an initiative to help rural-serving institutions address the challenges they face and capitalize on opportunities. The Rural College Leaders Program (RCLP) is an immersive learning community with 10 North Carolina community colleges that serve at least one rural county."

The Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research has announced that Monica Clark has joined the organization as deputy director. Clark is an accomplished industry professional who brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in executive leadership, education programming, grant development and public relations in both the non-profit and higher education sectors.

17 Doctoral Students to Represent College of Education at National Conferences Through Belk Center Fellows Program
When Amy Mahle ’23EDD, program chair of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education Community College Leadership program, was selected as a Belk Center Fellow in 2021, she was grateful for the opportunity to engage with peers and community college leaders from across the nation.
