Kaitlin N. S. Newhouse is a senior research associate at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. In this role, she oversees the PACE Climate Survey and provides support for a variety of other research projects aimed at improving student access and outcomes at North Carolina community colleges. In 2021, she earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Organizational Change at UCLA. Prior to this, she received her bachelor’s degree in gender studies from Tulane University and subsequently worked for four years in higher education administration. Her research interests focus on using quantitative and mixed methods approaches to address long-standing educational inequalities in a variety of higher education environments, with a specific interest in improving experiences and outcomes for poor and working-class students.
